BAG on architectenweb.nl

Another article on the actions of BAG on architectenweb.nl including the reaction of bad management (same as in B_Nieuws).
We will not be patronized and have a cup of coffee with a dean that obviously does not take students seriously!

Frankly, I am surprised by this whole action. I doesn't seem that you want to discuss or debate. You do not want to talk. You just want to shout. You seem to be happy with a situation in which you can call others 'BAD'. It makes you feel 'GOOD'. Why using a BLOG? that offers this narrow minded one direction communication only? Are you afraid to set up a forum? Are you afraid when others can start a topic as well? Are you afraid to start-up a real debate? All this 'MANIFESTO' shit is so sixties, so NeoMarxist, so Rudi Dutschke, so Daniel Cohn-Bendit, so Sandinista, so Anti-Globi.

Aren't we having a discussion? For the tone of the post we assume you are part of Bad Management and you feel threatened by the right of students to voice an opinion. What saddens Us from your post is the ignorant disregard that you mention "NeoMarxist, so Rudi Dutschke, so Daniel Cohn-Bendit, so Sandinista, so Anti-Globi" you are part of the neoliberal crowd that has caused so much harm to our world.

Our intentions are clear, first awareness, then action and discussion, and we think we are doing a good job. AT LEAST WE ARE DOING SOMETHING! what are you doing?

Dear Ugly
it is surprising that you still believe that "talking" will solve any of the problems we are facing... "talking" has never been a priority for bad management, and neither has it been to keep you or anyone else involved in the decision-making process. We are now experiencing the impact of their decisions and actions taken single-handedly some months ago. The "mistakes" have been made, we were never invited to participate in a "democratic" dialogue about issues that concern and affect us all as a community.
That you can follow this blog, and leave your reactions is the best - and only venue for now- left for our community to communicate and begin a debate. That you can participate with your comments is the sign of an open, two-way communication (not closed as you suggest) that we are left with due to bad management.
So if you think that the Faculty is doing great, it is weird that you are interested in some way to follow this blog in the first place. Leave your judgmental ideas on those groups that actually take ACTION (for all those asleep and in slumber) to generate CHANGE behind and start participating in a real debate: not about our style to call your attention on the real issues of bad management, but the issues themselves. Participate --and please point out the positive things that management has done for you and the BK community in the last year-- maybe that way we can start a real debate about our real concerns: the erosion of our community, the downgrading and decay of our qualitative criteria for education, the struggle of staff and students who see in outrage how pilots, electives, variety in contents are being systematically sacrificed over MONEY. Please tell us what YOU think is so great about bad management!
And don't stop participating.

And by the way UGLY, what is wrong with Marxism?

My dear hypocrite friends. Read again what you write when someone is guessing your identity:

"This is not a guessing game! this is a serious thing for us! and should also be for you! Some students are from DSD but the majority come from other camps. No one advised us of anything, patronize your family not us!"

So if this is not a guessing game, and if you truly think that someone has the right to stay anonymous. Then why do you start lashing out and falsely accuse me of being "bad management"?

I am not you, who considers him/herself GOOD. I am not the BAD management you are after. I am the UGLY. And I am damn well gonna say in the shitty blog what I wanna say, whenever I want, if you like it or not.

Good, bad, ugly (b.t.w. do you know the stockholm-syndrome?), bold and beautiful, I can't imagine that anybody honestly thinks that Bouwkunde is going the right way... every day I am being confronted with the deterioration of the quality of education at BK. If the education would get the same attention as the absurd and overdone interior, we would be a lot better off! Can somebody please put some effort in improving the education/research instead of freaking on (bad) managements interior/marketing obsessions? Find time to activate your CREATIVITY and come up with plans that comply with budgets AND make our faculty better?

Wouldn't it have been nice if the faculty could have started all over after the fire? Not only losing the building, but also management and the 'kidnapped' staff? Start with a clean sheet? I wonder if this would have happened.

One last suggestion: Wouldn't it be wise in this time of crisis (few jobs for the thousands of architects, urban planners etc.) to take your responsibility to figure out how many bk-graduates the world can handle instead of taking in as many as you can, bring in the money and burden somebody else with the problems (bad) management created in a few years time?
